Lou Reed wrote some great songs and wasn't afraid to dig deep into the persona of alternative lifestyles. This song is about being in a homosexual relationship with a drag queen. I personally am not gay, nor do i judge anyone's particular lifestyle, and I admire the courage it took for Lou Reed to write such a song back in the 70's. I thought it would be fun to cover this track :-). Lou Reed wrote this song to combat negative stories about the homosexual lifestyle in the 1970s. On writing it, Lou said:"The gay life at the moment isn’t that great. I wanted to write a song that made it terrific, something you’d enjoy."
